The old woodchuck is getting more used to me now. He still runs but not far and comes right back to get some nuts. I have not seen the young one again.
He's pretty battered looking and has knobs on his body. They could be from insects. I've noticed a few squirrels lately that have been invaded by those flies that lay eggs under their skin. I feel so bad for them.
Notice his bent ear? Bet he's been in a lot of fights.
I'm not sure if this woodchuck is male or a female. But I always call it a he. Maybe because it looks bigger and rough..
This juvenile crow still wants his parents to feed it.

Great pictures, as usual. This makes me think of the woodchuck that lives out back from me. I haven't seen it yet this year. I'm wondering if maybe it moved on.

Woodchucks are usually not happy around humans. You got some good pictures.
i wonder if the bumps were ticks. I think you have ammo for a nice childrens book.

Woodchunks are funny critters. Many years ago I walked to work along some railtroad tracks and every morning the Woodchucks got up on their hind legs and watched me untÃl I passed and then went back to their business.
Last time I saw a woodchuck was behind my house in Maine. We have no woodchucks in Sandinavia.

Thank you all for the comments. I do like watching the woodchucks, especiallt when they stand up and eat something or to just watch what's going on.
I think those bumps could be ticks also Steve. he's the only one with them so far. I have had a few books printed for the rgandchildren. They love them. And I give them all the videos on DVD's also.
Emma. One of the woodchucks comes running right up to the window when I call it. They sure do love nuts!
I think woodchucks generally stay in the same area Ratty. Hope you see yours soon.
