February 24, 2012-Squirrels

I still have all three red squirrels around. The one with the injury to his side is doing good. Then I have a female that seems to be protective of a smaller male one. Might have been her kid. The male one is the one with the shorter tail on previous posts. I will have more of those two up soon.

February 22, 2012-Mostly The Red Squirrels

This is the squirrel with part of his tail off. I think this is a female. I have three red squirrels out there now, that I know of. I'm thrilled! And I'm hoping to see baby ones in the spring or early summer.

Here she is ready to head for the woods when the coast is all clear.

More photos of the short-tailed one.

This squirrel has a small injury on it's left side. It was a fresh wound and almost a perfect little circle. Might be a bite. A big black cat has been around every evening and the hawks are flying around all the time. It might have almost gotten caught by a hawk. Never know. I haven't seen this one since this day.

This is the same squirrel with the injury.

This is a male red squirrel.

This male seems to be the biggest one and oldest one.

Chipmunks

This was the same injured one that day.

February 15, 2012 -Birds-Squirrels-Chipmunks

This red squirrel is alive and well and coming just about every day. I watched her go home tonight and she goes into the back woods like all the gray squirrels.

I have a new bunch of Starlings. I don't like them because theye at all the food too fast. But they are fun to watch also.

Love these Black capped Chickadees. This one finally sat still long enough for me to get a photo.

This Tufted Titmouse was busy opening a seed and eating it.

This woodpecker was too far away to get any clear photos.

Lots of these House Sparrows around.

I've got two chipmunks out here now. This is the little female. There's a male after her. If she likes him enough then they will mate and have babies this spring.

Right now the chipmunks are in the chasing stage..Ha!

She's got a seed stuck to her mouth.

The male and female cardinals are still alive and well. Sure glad they escape the hawks. But this is the only pair I have out there.

February 10, 2012-Large Hawk In Tree

The hawk way up in the tree. No wonder there are no animals around. It must be living close by because every day it's very quiet outside my windows.

The back woods. See how we have no snow at all around here? What a weird winter so far.

I'm glad this hawk turned around so I could see the front. It flew to another tree top and he had a very large wing span so I know it was an adult.

Fox tracks above and red squirrel tracks below.

Mourning Doves getting some warmth from the sun.

This male chipmunk has been back out for a week now. maybe earlier but I spotted him only a week ago. With this mild winter he's probably out for good now.

Thes snowy pics were from January 30th. It's all melted away now.

A Few Squirrels And Birds From January 27, 2012

A European Starling, Female Cardinal, Male Cardinal and a Mourning Dove.

The squirrel on the bottom is the one with thin fur. She's doing good. She's lucky that we've had a mild winter.
