March 26th- 27th, 2012-Scenery And The Moon

Everything budded out too early here because of the warm weather all last week. The temperature was close to 80 for a few days. Now it's below freezing at night and I worry that it might ruin the new leaves. You can see the Lilac bush all sprouted way too soon. And little baby leaves are already on the trees.

I see a mother squirrel going into this enst every evening so there are probably little ones in there. I'm going to keep my eye on it. Maybe I'll see babies like I did last year.

This was the moon with venus and Jupiter on the 26th. More photos below. They look much better with the naked eye. My camera can't capture them very well.

This was the moon and the sky on the 27th.

March 21st And 22nd, 2012-Doves-Squirrels-Budding Trees

I love how the red squirrel looks in the sun. He's so pretty.

Venus and Jupiter. I'm hoping to get a shot of them with the crescent moon on the 26th. But it's been too cloudy the past two days to get a photo with the moon below them.

A Mourning Dove sitting pretty on a branch.

The trees are sprouting their new baby leaves already. And we might get frost. I sure hope it doesn't kill them. It was such a weird winter and the warm weather has come too early. It's got everything confused..Ha!

One of the red squirrels and a chipmunk watching it.. The chipmunks get chased a lot by one of the red squirrels.
I have three males and one female as far as I know.

A Mourning Dove. Their eyes always look painted on.

A chipmunk sitting and then taking off.

March 18th-20th-2012-Red Squirrel-Skunk-Fox Eyes

The Red Squirrel and Chipmunks. Sometimes one of the red squirrels chases the chipmunks all the time but this one will stay there till they get real close.

This red squirrel is the one that chases all the chipmunks. He's looking for one in the wall. I've never seen him catch one yet. I don't want to see that. They might hurt one another.

A couple of the skunks are back around here now. This is one of them. I was taking pictures from the top part of my window in case the coon came along..

This is all I could get of the fox. Just his eyes shining in the dark. I'm just happy there are still two around.

March 15, 2012-Venus and Jupiter-14th-15th

I sure wish I had a better camera. On the 14th it was still a bit light. But I didn't want to wait any longer. I was on my way to the store. I stopped at a place that was clear. It was such a nice, clear night too. The dark picture is after I got out of the store. By then it was way too dark. The best time to take these kind of pictures is right after dusk when there is still some color to the sky. That's when I like to take pictures of the moon if I can. Around the 25th of March the crescent moon will be below these planets. I sure hope I get a clear night to get some pictures of that.

These were taken tonight on the 15th.

March 13, 2012-Squirrels, Wren And Sky

The Carolina Wren hangs around all the time now so I think he's found a home.

I think these are the planets Venus and Jupiter, that I keep seeing in the early evening in the southwestern sky. I'm going to try and get some better photos on the 14th. Hope the sky is clear.

March 9th-10th-2012-Snow-Critters-Birds

A Junco in the snow on the 9th. The snow came down heavy that day and we got a few inches. It sure was pretty.

A Carolina Wren in the snow.

Mourning Dove and squirrel tracks in the snow.

A Gray squirrel covered in snow.

That night I saw my first skunk all winter. Also saw two Gray Fox. They had been right where the skunk is but ran. They were up by the tree and I tried to get a picture of them but the snow got in the way. But I am happy that there are two around. I might see pups this year after all!

The moon behind the trees on the the 9th.

This red squirrel was digging in the snow that morning. he was cute with his face all snow. This is on the 10th.

Starlings. Everyone's favorite bird..Ha!

Bluejay

This little fella had a second to close his eyes...

Some Red Wing Black Birds came around again on the 10th.

March 6th -7th- 2012-Birds And Chipmunks

Junco and Tufted Titmouse.

Female House Sparrow, Mourning Dove and European Starling

Carolina Wren and a Black Capped Chickadee

This chipmunk loved the crust of a pizza I threw out and he tried to take it home by going through the rock wall but he couldn't fit. So he ended up chewing it into pieces then taking some home. It was funny to watch.

That one chipmunk didn't get any of the pizza crust. The one that did has his cheeks stuffed.

This is the best I could do last night with the moon. The trees were in the way and there was a haze in the sky. When I had gone out to the store at 6:30 pm the moon was clear and bright and huge. I sure wished I had taken my camera.

March 3rd and 4th-2012-Squirrels

This is the one who had the injury and is doing great. It has a scar on it's side now. So I will always know him.

These are two males who were chattering at each other. They want their own space. One is the short tailed one.
