April 7th And 8th-2011-Birds-Critters-Moon

A foggy morning on April 7th.

Tufted Titmouse and Song Sparrow. (I think)

BlueJays on a branch. I like how they look like silhouettes.

Chipmunks. That one is itching himself.

Sunset and the sun as it shines on the back woods at sundown.

The moon on April 7th.

The Pileated Woodpecker. Only saw this one. Not his mate. I wish I'd see them both together again.

A Black capped Chickadee

Downy Woodpecker

The Pileated Woodpecker again on a different tree.

The Gray Fox. There were two out there but I only saw this one to get a picture. The other one kept grabbing food and taking it into the woods. The other night at 3:30 in the morning I heard one of the baby foxes crying and yelling outside my window. I got up to look out the window with my flashlight but it ran up over the wall. I was so happy to hear one. I hear them every spring like that at night. The parents are bringing them out and teaching them to hunt. But they won't be bringing them out during the day for another few weeks. They will be bigger then. They cry so loud because they don't want the mother to leave them. I have to laugh when I hear them like that. It scares the other people though. They don't know what the heck that awful noise is. They are quite loud and sound almost like a baby crying. They don't have their bark yet. I tried to get a picture but by the time I got my camera and got up on my stool and opened the top window they were going over the hill. The baby was still crying. But he stopped after they got up into the woods where he felt safe.

I still fail to spot any woodpecker in the jungle.

Lovely photos of your beautiful creatures Ginny. Your Pileated Woodpecker is very striking, I managed to get some more photos of Green Woodpeckers over the weekend which I will post eventually.

I loved the photos of the Chipmunk collecting leaves on the previous post. So glad the Foxes are visiting but for goodness sake be careful on that stool...not sure you are safe on that!...HUGS :)
