A New Critter!!

I just happened to look out my bedroom window last night and saw what I thought was the fox. But when I shined the flashlight on him he seemed to be fatter and his ears looked small. His back was to me at that time. His fur was a light brown. So I got my camera and made a noise so he'd move and that is when I realized it was a Raccoon!! I haven't seen a Raccoon out here in years. I opened the window and he didn't run too far so I got these pictures. He even seemed to pose for me. I think he is a handsome fella. I heard skunks squeeling when I opened the window and saw one chasing another off in the distance. One skunk was right next to the Raccoon when I first shined the light on them. Guess nothing bothers with the skunks except for they themselves. They seem to get mad at each other a lot and when they do it stinks around here. I was reading about skunks and it says that the females get mad at the males sometimes if they try to get near them and will spray at them.

That's great! I love raccoons! Your pictures of him are excellent. I met a group pf raccoons one time and they came running up to me like puppies. I wouldn't recommend being friendly with them, but I had no choice.

We haven't seen a raccoon around here since ours got caught, and released, from our trap. He was very destructive, but I miss his being around. He took food meant for the other animals. Still, I miss him being around. Maybe I'll just enjoy yours.

I have to be careful. This guy is coming around every night now and he came back at 2 am the other night and I heard him put his paws up on the building as if wanting me to come to the window. Ha! Ha! I had opened the window and threw one of the fox treats out to him and he even stood up. It was so cute. Wish I had gotten a picture of that! But now I better stop or he will be climbing up the wall. Yikes!
