April 21Thru 23, 2012 -Woodchucks-Sparrows-Red Squirrels

This is one of the woodchucks that was around last year. It's in good shape. First time I've seen it.

I can't remember what kind of Sparrow this is. Song or Chipping?

House Sparrows

This is the old woodchuck that was around last year. She's all scarred up and has a bad back leg. Poor thing. Maybe she has young ones around. I hope I see them.

Your sparrow looks like a Chipping Sparrow to me.

Love seeing that the Woodchuck made it though another winter!

The sparrow is a Chipping nice to see them as we do not get them here in the uk. do not be fooled by the head colour. I think your second frames are the American Tree Sparrow.
just love that woodchuck.

I've just had a most enjoyable catch up Ginny and loved seeing all your creatures again. The little Red Squirrel is so sweet and the Woodchuck is always interesting to see, we don't have them here. I also, of course ;-) always love seeing your birds and, I love the Blue Jays, Cardinals! American Robins and different types of sparrow, my favourite from your recent posts though is the pretty little White-throated Sparrow...that's really cute!

Now we have an official drought here we have had rain every day for over a week. Ha!!

You have as many sparrows as I have.

But I never count them.

Thanks you all for the info on the Chipping Sparrow. I was too lazy to look it up..LOL It's been raining off and on for the past few days here Jan. Even had some soft hail yesterday! Sort of like snow. They did have snow to the West of us. It's cold. Only in the high 30's and low 40's today.
I haven't spotted the woodchucks since that day.
