Last Of August Collages-2010

This same Chipmunk is always standing so still it seems. Just listening.

There are way too many House Sparrows around here. But I like listening to them also.

This is a young Grackle. He doesn't have his shiny bluish head yet.

This squirrel is taking it easy on this hot day. It's been close to 90 degrees and going over that Wednesday. I keep water out there for them all.

Female Cardinal

Look at all the skunks I have around here!! Yikes!! And they sure are fat!!

This little mouse was clinging to the side of the building. He gets inside too. I hear them in the walls at times. I also smelled a dead one recently in my wall. Yuck!! And that is a slug on the rock.
Can't believe it's September already!! But I love the fall. It's my favorite time of the year.

August 30, 2010-A Few Critters

Spotted this lone Turkey up on the back hill this morning. I'm sure the others were close by in the woods. But this one was all I could see from my window.

One of the adult foxes. A chipmunk and some of the skunks. The black ones are Mom and Young. The other ones were out there after dark. That one is still fatter than heck. Maybe it's just too fat. I thought maybe it was going to have babies. Sure looks like it. But seems too late in the season. But I guess skunks are like cats and can have them any time.

August 26, 2010-A Fox Pup And Chipmunk Praying..Ha

I love chipmunks and this one was so cute. The woodchuck is under the bush going home.

These two collages are of the same Gray Fox pup. They are so grown up now. They must be close to six months old. Not sure. Maybe five. But they seem to be out on their own these days. I was coming up my street last night at ten pm and one of them ran across the street and up the hill behind some houses. That was way down the street from me. So I guess they are running all over the neighborhood. Won't be long before someone complains or someone will shoot or poison them probably. But I can't worry about that. I just enjoy them when I see them. I didn't get attached to any of them this year like I did last. It was too painful to see one injured. I don't want to see that again. They are such beautiful creatures.

The Fox And Skunk-Aug. 23, 2010

They never seem to mind each other as long as they each got their own food.

August 20th-2010-Woodchuck-Birds-Critters

One big happy family around here..Ha!

Not sure what kind of bug that is but it looks like a big mosquito. The little Cowbird is still a round. He's going to be a very lonely bird if he doesn't go and find his own kind. There are no other Cowbirds around here.

I think that skunk will be having babies soon. She's so fat!!

August 16, 2010-The Foxes And Skunks

A juvenile cardinal. I think it's a male but not sure. Could be a female. And a juvenile Blue Jay.

A young skunk that was down way too early. It was raining and they love coming out in the rain. But then the sun came out and he went back up into the woods.

The Blue Jays don't seem to be afraid of this fox. They were sneaking down by him to get some nuts.

These foxes finally showed themselves. I hadn't seen them in a few days. Here there are two pups with their mom and Grandmother.

This old skunk was too busy eating her nuts to care that the two foxes were near.
