June 11th And 12th Critters

The Woodchuck on a rainy day. All wet. She has not had any young ones with her since that one day when the baby came with her. Never will know what happened to it. I don't want to.

One of the yearling male foxes. I think that older female was his mother. She sort of crouches down if he comes too near as if to say stay away. He waits then comes down. They have to keep their distances when they get older, even if it is his mom. Although they tolerate each other I think.

A little chipmunk hiding in the rock wall and another one on the side of a tree, waiting for the fox to leave.

Different views of one young squirrel.

A Grackle, house finch or sparrow. Not sure. BlueJays, Young Starling and a male Cardinal.

June 9th And 10th Collages-More Fox Pups

I love watching them climb a tree.

There are four pups out there with this set of parents. They are so much fun to watch.

Chipmunk & Vole. I like the way the Chipmunk is looking at the Vole.

June 8, 2010-The Gray Fox Pups Are Out!

I spotted one of the pups up a tree way back in the woods this morning. You can just about make him out. There was a squirrel running to get in the tree also. He made it safely. These pups are a bit smaller than when I first spotted the ones last year on July 4th. I am so happy to see them! They are adorable! Only tow have come out so far. I'm sure there is another family back there.

I was surprised to see these two come all the way down by themselves. It was so much fun watching them for the short time they were out there. I think they have been coming down in that area after dark. I heard one go barking up the alley by my bedroom window last night. I think the skunk sprayed it. He sounded like he was really crying for his mom..Ha!
I'm adding some video footage of them also.

June 6th And 7th-Fox Mom-Birds-Critters

I spotted a helicopter in the sky so had to take a photo of it. A pretty juvenile looking Black capped Chickadee. Finally got a picture of one of the Goldfinches. Had to take it from inside my car because they always fly off when I get out. So I took my camera out with me the other day hoping to catch them. Someday I'll get the rest of them. The white flowers on that bush look pretty and there was a storm brewing in the sky in the last photo.

This is one of the Gray Fox Dads.

One of the Gray Fox Moms.

Chipmunk. I love these little guys.

June 5, 2010 Fox And Woodchuck

These are the two Raccoons fighting the other night. I didn't get a very good shot at them. I opened the window and yelled at them to knock it off. They went screaming at each other all the way back to the woods. What a racket. They were really fighting too! I think the male was trying to get at the female and she wanted no part of it.

I put this single shot of the chipmunk peeking through the squirrel's tail so maybe you could see it better when you clicked on it to enlarge.

This is the older female fox and the woodchuck didn't seem to mind her being there. But of course she didn't have her baby with her. I still have not seen it again.

This is one of the younger females. She's the one that always waits till the older one has gone before coming down to get her nuts. I think she might have young ones also.

June 4, 2010-Birds And Critters

Black-Capped Chickadee on the seed bell that hangs on my bedroom window. A Black Crow on a branch and in flight as he flew off. A pretty BlueJay and a juvenile Starling.

Can you see the Chipmunk peeking through the young squirrel's tail? Ha!

Chipmunks. A Gray Fox. That one was one of the pups last year. Quite a few of those pups still come around. A young squirrel and the Woodchuck without her baby. Haven't seen the baby again since it ran from the fox the other day.

June 3, 2010-Woody Has A Baby!-Video

My woodchuck turns out to be a female. She brought her baby down with her today but the fox was out there at the same time. She had to scold her baby to get out of there. Then she chased the fox away but the baby ran back up to the hill I guess. I never could find it. I got so nervous that I didn't get the video of the woodchuck chasing the fox. All I got was my window sill so I had to cut that part out.. I hope I see the baby again. It sure is a rough world out there for babies.
