Gray Fox....Finally!-May 10, 2012

Finally I got a few pics of this male gray fox. He didn't run when I opened the window like he usually does and he let me take flash pictures. I am pretty sure there must be babies close by. That's the way the others acted when it got close to the time to bring them out hunting with them. I'm sure the babies were out there somewhere hiding. I was so excited just to get these pics and can't wait to see the babies, even though it might only be at night. This pair never comes out during the day. Not yet anyway. When the babies start running around they usually do.

May 7, 2012-Squirrels And Birds

The Supermoon-Perigee-May 6, 2012

 

As the moon was rising on the 6th. It was awesome watching it. Just wish I had better zoom for the video I took.  I waited almost an hour and a half for that thing to rise..LOL  But it was worth it. I went up to the community college's parking lot, that sits on a hill outside Herkimer.

 

Those lights at the bottom are the college apartments. I guess it was the settings on my camera that made this look so yellow. Later the color changed as it got higher.

May 4th And 5th-Moon-Birds-Squirrels-Mouse-Chipmunk

 

 Squirrels were crying because a hawk was eating one of their babies back in the woods. The crows were having a fit. It was real noisy for a while till the hawk flew away.

 

A mouse. He even carried off the fox treats. There are lots of mice in that wall this year. This was the only brave one that stayed and let me take his picture..

 This chipmunks was waiting till danger passed. There was a hawk up in the woods eating a baby squirrel I think.

I have never seen this bird before. It's so pretty.

May 2, 2012-Female Cardinal-Woodchuck

 

All the mommy squirrels are down. One looks like she's full of milk, which means maybe her babies died.
